Bovey Castle, set within 368 square miles of the Dartmoor National Park, Devon in South West England provides guests with a private and tranquil haven complemented by a style, quality and ambience often aspired to but rarely found.
Originally built as a private home and sporting estate the Castle exudes the elegance, luxury and excitement of the 1920's. Enhanced by exceptional levels of comfort and friendly service, sets this experience apart from any other; a touch of Agatha Christie, the Orient Express and Hercule Poirot!
Heritage
Bovey Castle was built in 1906 under the ownership of Viscount Hambledon, son of the business baron WH Smith who was also First Sea Lord of the Admiralty. As is evidenced today, no expense was spared in either the scale or the quality of craftsmanship, creating an exceptional country home with grand oak panelled drawing rooms, large open fire-places, ornate broad stairways and magnificent oak panelled Great Hall, all opening onto the stone balustraded garden terraces.
